Where It All Began...
Originally built in the 1970's and privately owned by the Price family, Rim Rock Motel has been in operation for over 31 years, recently expanded to 33 rooms and under constant upgrade and remodel to meet guest's needs. Our newest additions are Gated, Open Horse pens to accomodate travelers with livestock.
Nestled up 4500 feet in the Highland Desert of Modoc County, in the far North - Eastern part of the state of California, on the outskirts of Alturas.
Alturas is located 180 miles North of Reno, Nevada on Hwy #395 N; 150 miles East of Redding Calif. Hwy #299; 100 miles South-East of Klamath Falls, Oregon on Hwy 139.
Climate is dry with mild to tolerably warm temperatures during the Summer with a nice breeze & occasional brisk winds in the late afternoon. We have moderate snows in the Winter.
